  • Ben Murphy

    Ben Murphy, Attorney

    Ben Murphy, a DeSoto County native, has practiced law since 2007 and is licensed in Mississippi, Tennessee, and Arkansas. He earned his law degree from Ole Miss, with additional study in Hawaii. Ben currently serves as Desoto County Justice Court Judge for District 2, Public Defender for Southaven (since 2011), and Municipal Court Judge in Horn Lake (since 2017). He is also Vice-President of the DeSoto County Bar Association and a certified Guardian ad Litem.

    A graduate of Leadership DeSoto and a member of Getwell Church, Ben and his wife, Misty, lead the church’s multi-generation Sunday school class. They live in Southaven with their three children. In his free time, Ben enjoys traveling, hunting, fishing, cooking, Ole Miss football, and spending time with family.

  • Jessica Boyd

    Jessica Boyd, Associate Attorney

    Jessica Boyd is an Associate Attorney at The Murphy Law Firm, focusing on Family Law, Criminal Defense, and serving as a Guardian ad Litem in DeSoto, Tate, and Lafayette counties. She joined the firm in January 2023. Originally from Destin, Florida, Jessica earned her bachelor’s in law studies from Ole Miss and her Juris Doctor from Florida Coastal School of Law. Admitted to the Mississippi Bar in 2022, Jessica enjoys outdoor activities, fishing, and spending time with family and her dogs when not working.

  • Yanina Hawkins

    Yanina Hawkins, Legal Assistant

    A DeSoto County resident for 37 years, Yanina Hawkins has been the Secretary at The Murphy Law Firm since May 2014. She attended Delta State University and is the proud mother of Ana-Katherine and Jacob, a Webster University cross country and track athlete studying Business and Sports Management. She’s also a grandmother to Remington and Jacob. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching football and baseball, and is a huge Arkansas Razorbacks fan.
